Agriculture and Extension Education

The Agricultural and Extension Education (AEE) major prepares individuals to excel in careers related to youth education in community programs, middle and high school agricultural education, and adult education. Based in the Department of Agricultural, Leadership, and Community Education, this major will prepare students for success in professions that apply agricultural content to diverse educational settings. Students will experience an interdisciplinary program of study designed to address the educational needs of youth and adults in today鈥檚 evolving agricultural and food systems. Beyond formal curricula, students will have experiential learning opportunities such as internships, field studies, and undergraduate research. Overall, the AEE major provides students with a firm academic foundation for diverse professional opportunities, including graduate school. For prospective teachers, this program combines many licensure certification requirements with foundations in agricultural skills, including animal science, plant science, economics, and agricultural mechanics/welding.
